Man Misses Olympic Gold medal Due To Huge Penis

A POLE vault hopeful missed out on his chance of an Olympic medal when the bar was knocked off its perch by his Penis.

Japanese pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita will be ruing the size of his manhood after it caused him to foul during the qualifying rounds in the men’s event in Rio.

Ogita was attempting to clear a height of 5.3 metres in group A of the first round of the pole vault, when his leg came in contact with the bar. As he began to drop back down towards the ground, his shin grazed the bar, causing it to wobble dangerously.

But it was his penis that delivered the final blow. Already unsteady, the bar was dislodged from its holdings when Ogita’s old fellow decided to make an appearance and slap the metal. The vaulter’s arm then collected the bar as it began to fall.

Video footage showed the crushing moment the 28-year-old was let down by his trouser friend.

peni2

Unfortunately, the foul effectively cost Ogita a place in the final.

Despite clearing the height on his second attempt, the Japanese athlete was only able to make a height of 5.45 metres with his last jump, which left him in 21st place, ending his campaign in Rio.

What a way to end your Olympic dream: thwarted by the one thing no man ever wants to let him down.

The competition was eventually won by Brazilian Thiago Braz da Silva – as the host nation won their first athletics gold.

UPDF Solders Jailed & Fired With Disgrace For Selling Weapons, Fuel To Al Shabaab

Nine Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) soldiers serving under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) have been sentenced to prison for misconduct.

The soldiers were found guilty of pursuing personal interest and endangering operational efficiency of the UPDF, contrary to section 124 of the UPDF Act. The nine were part of a group of soldiers implicated in a fuel racket that was busted by AMISOM officials in June.

The UPDF Divisional Court Martial sitting in Mogadishu, yesterday, handed sentences ranging from one year to three years after finding the soldiers, who included both senior and junior ranking officers, guilty of misconduct and violating the rules and regulations of peacekeeping.

som1

The sentences were read to the soldiers by the Chairman of the Court Martial, Brig. Gen. Dick Olum, who warned that UPDF will not tolerate any incident of misconduct among its officers serving in peacekeeping missions.

“The prosecution has proved all the accusations of pursuing personal interest and endangering operational efficiency beyond reasonable doubt. The accused persons are hereby convicted of the charges against them and this conviction is given under my hand and seal this 15th day of August 2016. You are convicted as charged,” Gen. Olum told the soldiers.

In addition to imprisonment at Luzira prison, Uganda, three of the soldiers were dismissed with disgrace from the army. It means that they will leave the army without any benefits, unlike many of their colleagues who have served the Mission with diligence and upheld high standards of discipline as required by the Ugandan government.

Those convicted are: Maj. Sulait, who was sentenced to three years imprisonment and dismissed with disgrace from the UPDF; Maj. Kundu Weyaula, one year and demoted to the rank of Captain; Warrant Officer II Kakooza Mathew, 18 months imprisonment; Staff Sergeant Abwot Richard, 18 months in prison and demoted to Sergeant, and Cpl. Sekandi Ronald was handed a two-year prison term and also dismissed with disgrace from the army.

Others are Lance Corporals Kasule Budala and Atugiriire Dennis, both sentenced to 18 months in prison and demoted to the rank of Private; Private Tibaijuka Expedito, two years imprisonment and dismissed with disgrace and Private Mwanja Noah, 18 months in prison.

som3

Prior to the sentencing, the Judge Advocate, Maj. Harry Lully Lulecera, informed the court that the charges were within the ambit of the UPDF Act, adding that the Court Martial had the powers to sentence the accused soldiers. However, the Defence counsel Lt. Lilian Tugume, pleaded for a lighter sentence on the grounds that all the nine were first time offenders and had shown remorse.

Gen. Olum defended the penalties, saying the soldiers had not only damaged the image of the UPDF and AMISOM but had also endangered the lives of others.

“The sentence that military courts give out to soldiers who have committed a crime is a deterrent sentence. It is a sentence that sends out a message to the rest of military personnel whether back at home or in any other mission out of the country. It is a message that goes out to soldiers and officers of the UPDF that if you commit an offence, you will face the law and face it very harshly,” Gen. Olum said.
Both Major Saifu and Weyaula were stripped of their ranks and together with the rest of the convicts, will stay in custody until they return to Uganda to begin serving jail terms.

The nine are part of 18 soldiers who were earlier arraigned before the same court for selling fuel belonging to the Mission. They were charged after five soldiers were arrested in June, in connection with the illicit sale of fuel in a scam involving civilians in Mogadishu.

som2

However, out of the 18, two pleaded guilty and were immediately charged, six were acquitted and one turned into a state witness, leaving the nine, who had denied any wrongdoing, to face trial.

The Divisional Court Martial is constituted by the UPDF high command and is charged with the trial of cases of misconduct committed by soldiers serving in missions out of the country.

KAYIHURA CASE: Our Lives In Danger, Prosecution Lawyers Cry Out

The case in which Ugandan Police chief and his junior commanders are accused of brutalizing civilians has taken a new twist following reports that some of the prosecution lawyers revealed that they fear for their lives.

Nicholas Opiyo
Nicholas Opiyo

Top city lawyers Nicholas Opiyo and  Daniel Walyemera told a local news agency that they have received threatening phone calls from unknown persons asking them to back off from the case.

General Kale Kayihura was sued and summoned to court over police officers involvement in the ruthless beating of former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate,  Kizza Besigye’s supporters in Makindye in July.

However, on the day he was supposed to appear before the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s court, (August 10), a group of demonstrators held a procession in a show of solidarity with the police chief and threatened to lynch lawyers who had filed a case against the police chief.

Their actions have since been condemned by leaders across the political divide in the East African nation with Uganda’s Internal Affairs Minister, Jeje Odong saying their actions at the court were uncalled for.

One of the lawyers, Walyemera says he has received strange phone calls while his wife has been trailed by unknown persons. He says he has filed a complaint at the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC).

Machar Quits South Sudan

SPLM-IO Chairman Riek Machar, whose supporters continue to call him South Sudan’s ‘legitimate’ first vice president, has relocated out of the country after more than a month during which his whereabouts were undisclosed for security reasons, according to his press representatives in Nairobi.

The rebel leader turned first vice president fled Juba last month after his base in Juba was bombed by troops loyal to President Salva Kiir. The president afterward decreed Machar’s removal from the post of first vice president but Machar’s supporters claim he is still the “legitimate” VP and the effort to remove him is a violation of the peace deal signed last year.

“The Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA (IO), Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, has been successfully relocated to a neighboring country today, August 17, 2016, after one month of stay in the bushes around Juba,” Machar’s spokesman James Gatdet Dak said on his Facebook page.

However, he neither gave any details on how the relocation was carried, nor to which country he was relocated. “He is currently safe! He has assured of the leadership’s commitment to change the status quo in the country,” said Dak.

Mabior Garang, the SPLM-IO spokesman who was appointed to a ministerial post earlier this year but has now returned to exile in Kenya, confirmed the ‘evacuation’ of Machar to another country, saying also that he would hold a press conference within the next 24 hours.

He referred to a “botched attempt to assassinate the legitimate First Vice President” – presumably a reference to the violence in and around Juba last month, during which Machar’s bodyguards clashed with Kiir’s leaving hundreds dead.

Machar had been allowed to bring several hundred troops into Juba to stay at designated sites under the terms of a peace deal signed in August 2015. None of his troops remain in the city any longer and the government says it will not accept for them to return.

Dak commented further in a second Facebook post this morning saying, “We thank our courageous fighters for failing President Kiir and General Paul Malong Awan from the ruthless attempt to kill our leader.”

Three killed in anti-govt. protest in Congo

Three people, including a policeman, have lost their lives in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) during a protest against the government’s alleged failure to protect people after a brutal massacre took place in the country’s restive east over the last weekend.

The fatalities occurred on Wednesday when police and army troops, using teargas and warning shots, attempted to disperse several hundreds of protesting people, who had rallied on the main street of the northeastern city of Beni, located in the North Kivu province, and had blocked off some other streets with barricades.

In the first fatal incident, “a policeman and a civilian were killed, nine people were injured, (comprising) six civilians and three soldiers,” Beni Mayor Edmond Masumbuko said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that in another incident, a woman, suspected of being a member of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel group, was killed in northern Beni on the same day.

According to Gilbert Kambale, the head of Beni’s civil society movement, the young civilian was shot dead by a policeman.

Congolese police nabbed at least six protesters, threw them into a military jeep and took them away.

The protest had been staged at the end of a three-day mourning in the Central African country, called by civil groups, over a tragic incident in which members of ADF on Saturday night bypassed army positions in Beni and hacked to death 51 people in revenge for military operations in the area.

In the Wednesday demonstration, protesters also burned down an effigy of the Congolese President Joseph Kabila, as well as flags of his ruling People’s Party for Reconstruction and Democracy (PPRD), to show their dissent and hatred over the alleged inability of the government in safeguarding civilians’ lives.

The ADF, which is predominantly opposing Ugandan government, was founded in Uganda in 1995 and later moved to the impoverished DR Congo, and spread its reign of violence particularly in the North Kivu province. In its almost two decades of presence there, the rebel group has been accused of committing serious human rights violations, including recruiting child soldiers and rape, against local population.

The Congolese army, joined by UN troops, is on the offensive against the ADF and other rebel groups.

Clinton’s lead over Trump shrinks to 4 points in national poll

A new poll shows Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s lead over her Republican rival, Donald Trump, has shrunk to 4 points in the run-up to the 2016 US presidential race.

According to Pew Research Center poll, released on Thursday, the former secretary of state has 41 percent of the votes as compared to Trump enjoying a 37-percent support in a four-candidate match-up.

In that scenario, Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson earned 10 percent, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein bagged 4 percent.

Clinton holds a 19-percentage point lead among women, with 49 percent to 30 percent, but Trump is leading by 12 points among men, with 45 percent to 33 percent.

Clinton has a solid lead of 39 points over Trump among those with postgraduate degrees, 59 percent to 21 percent, and Trump leads 41 percent to 36 percent among those with some or no college experience.

A majority of Americans hold an unfavorable view of Trump, with 55 percent saying he would make a poor or terrible president, while 45 percent saying the same about Clinton.

Thirty-one percent say Clinton would make a good or great president, while 27 percent say the same of Trump.

Those who back Trump say, 81 percent to 11 percent, that life is worse now for US citizens than it was 50 years ago. However, Clinton supporters — 59 percent — say life is better than five decades ago and 19 percent say it is worse.

The poll was conducted from August 9 to 16 among a national sample of 2,010 adults, including 1,557 registered voters. The margin of error is 2.5 points for the total sample and 2.8 points for registered voters.

However, according to another poll, also released on Thursday, Clinton has a good lead over Trump in the key states of Colorado, Virginia, and Iowa.

The former secretary of state beats the New York billionaire 49 to 39 percent in Colorado, the Quinnipiac University poll showed.

Also in Virginia, Clinton holds a big lead, 50 to 38 percent, while in Iowa she is three percent ahead of the real estate mogul, 47 to 44.

The former first lady’s leads were slimmer when third-party candidates, Johnson and Stein were added to the equation.

Usain Bolt wins 200m gold, his eighth Olympic gold

Usain Bolt won the men’s 200m to claim his second Rio 2016 gold, his eighth at an Olympics, and keep alive his hopes of an unprecedented ‘treble treble’.

The Jamaican ran 19.78 seconds to come home ahead of Canada’s Andre de Grasse and France’s Christophe Lemaitre.

Britain’s Adam Gemili clocked the same time as Lemaitre, but was denied his first Olympic medal in a photo finish.

Bolt, 29, has already won the 100m in Rio and will run in the 4x100m relay final on Friday (02:35 BST, Saturday).

Bolt is aiming to match his achievement of claiming gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay at both Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

The Jamaican, who said in February he would retire after the 2017 World Championships, has won all eight of the Olympic finals in which he has appeared.

“The fact I came here and executed what I wanted to is a brilliant feeling,” he told BBC Sport.

“I wasn’t happy with the time when I crossed the line but I’m excited I got the gold medal – that’s the key thing.”

Only US sprinter and long jumper Carl Lewis and Finnish long-distance runner Paavo Nurmi have won more Olympic gold medals in athletics.

Lewis won nine golds between 1984 and 1996, while Nurmi also won nine between 1920 and 1928.

“What else can I do to prove I am the greatest? I’m trying to be one of the greatest, to be among Ali and Pele,” added Bolt.

Bolt believed he could break his world record of 19.19 and even go under 19 seconds in Rio’s Olympic Stadium.

So the slow time – by his standards at least – left the Jamaican gesticulating angrily as he crossed the line more than two tenths of a second ahead of De Grasse.

But Bolt quickly broke into a beaming smile, celebrating with a trademark ‘Lightning Bolt’ as thousands of fans chanted his name.

South Sudan’s Machar Hiding In DR Congo Forests

South Sudan’s rebel leader and former first vice president Riek Machar has fled to the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the United Nations says.

UN spokesman Farhan Haq said Thursday that Congolese authorities had asked the world body’s mission in DRC (MONUSCO) to facilitate the transfer of Machar and his family from a location near the border with South Sudan to a safe place.

He said the UN mission had “no involvement” in Machar’s departure from South Sudan.

“He has been handed over to the DRC authorities,” the UN official said, adding that the transfer was done for “humanitarian reasons” and “with his consent.”

Haq further said Machar was in danger and was provided with whatever medical assistance he needed.

The spokesman declined to provide further details about his location in the county, but an unnamed source told AFP that Machar could be in the capital, Kinshasa.

The source said Machar wanted “to go as soon as possible to Ethiopia.”

Earlier on Thursday, a South Sudanese opposition spokesman had said Machar went to a “safe country within the region” and was expected to hold a news conference on Friday.

Machar’s spokesman James Gatdet Dak said in a separate statement that rebel forces had managed to foil what he called a “ruthless attempt” by President Salva Kiir to kill Machar.

Africa Wins Penis Size Contest

Nervous men need to wait no longer to see how they measure up against their rivals.

An interactive graphic has been published which compares erect penis sizes across the globe.

Africa bests stiff competition to claim the title for the world’s largest penises, while men from Asia are shown to have the smallest on average.

Published on Target Map, countries are colour-coded according to the average size of men’s penises.

Countries in red have the largest, orange the second largest, yellow sits in the middle of the pack, light green the second smallest and green the smallest.

Western African countries such as Ghana, Gabon and the Congo conquer the list, with averages in excess of 16 centimetres.

India, Thailand and South Korea are found at the bottom, with average sizes between 9.3 and 10.5 centimetres.

Australia comes in the second-biggest group with an average penis size greater than 14.7 centimetres – in the same company as Mexico, Norway, Italy and Sweden.

The United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom all sit in the middle of the pack with typical penis sizes ranging between 12.9 and 14.7 centimetres.

Russia has an average between 10.5 and 12.9 centimetres according the map, alongside Japan, Indonesia and Brazil.

Target map has previously published a map which compares breast sizes across the globe.

Women from Russia, Sweden, Norway and Finland are shown on the map to have the largest average breast size in the world.

Women from Africa or living in Asian countries are on the opposite end of the spectrum – the majority with A or B cup sized breasts.

Australia falls in the middle with C cup sized breasts on average, along with France, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Europe is divided, with the average sizes varying greatly across different countries.

Women in Northern Ireland are a C cup average – a cup larger than the Republic of Ireland.

Germany and surrounding countries have an average D cup sized breast where as Latvia and Belarus have an average A cup.

The United States women have a D cup average whereas their neighbours in Canada have a C cup average.

It is not known whether the data has included women with breast implants.

While many people have been entertained by the data and intrigued to see how they compare, others have found it offensive and questioned the purpose of the map.

‘This is just misogynist rubbish,’ one woman wrote on Twitter.

‘This is disgusting, what has the world become?’ Another wrote.

Trump says he regrets past controversial remarks

US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has apologized for his past controversial comments that “may have caused personal pain” as he attempts to refocus his message in the face of falling opinion poll numbers.

Trump said on Thursday that he realized that his remarks, which have angered minorities and alienated large swaths of American voters, may have been ill-advised.

“Sometimes in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that,” Trump said at a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“And believe it or not, I regret it, and I do regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain,” he added.

Trump did not cite any examples of such comments. His campaign has been marked by controversy from the beginning, including disparaging remarks about women, Mexican immigrants and Muslims.

Trailing Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in national opinion polls, Trump has tried to rearrange his campaign. On Wednesday, he announced he was overhauling his campaign operation for the second time in less than two months.

In his remarks, the celebrity businessman delivered a new, inclusive tone and tried to appeal directly to non-white voters and urged African-American voters to give him a chance.

“I will not rest until children of every color in this country are fully included in the American Dream,” Trump told his audience, again accusing Democratic Hillary Clinton of “bigotry.”

Clinton’s campaign dismissed the apology as just words he read from a teleprompter.

“Donald Trump literally started his campaign by insulting people. He has continued to do so through each of the 428 days from then until now, without shame or regret,” said spokeswoman Christina Reynolds in a statement.

No More Western Jazz As Over 200 Vaginas Lose Clitorises In Sebei

Over 200 girls have been circumcised in Sebei this year through the infamous Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), according to Mary Busingye Karooro Okurut, Minister in charge of General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister.

The former security minister revealed this shocking revelation during the launch of her thrilling book titled “The Switch”

The book was launched was Speaker Rebecca Kadaga in company of other ministers such as Beti Kamya (KCCA) and David Bahati (Finance) and other MPs.

The Switch tells a depressing tale of a one sabiny woman-Chelimo who is attracted to the warm arms of a charming mukiga man for marriage.

However, Chelimo has a big disheartening secret that she keeps away from her hubby that later on threatened their blossoming marriage.

Chelimo later reveals to her hubby that her genitals were mutilated at childhood an issue that left her with unbearable pain during sex, labour, menstrual periods and left her vulnerable to diseases like fistula and unending UTIs.

She however fights the odds and joins politics where she used her position as a politician to advocate for genital mutilation-free society.

Karooro’s book aims at fighting the female genital mutilation through creating public awareness. The vice has remained rampant in the country especially in the districts of Amudat and Kapchorwa.

During the launch, Minister Karooro Okurut revealed that whereas the law against FGM is in place, some conservatists are clandestinely circumcising girls even in health facilities.

“The knife that the native refer to us ‘rwotowet’ should be used to serve its purposes and not to mutilate our girls. I am told that over 200 girls were circumcised in Sebei region since this year began,” Karooro Okurut said.

Joachim Buwembo, a veteran journalist revealed that FGM is not only done in particular seasons, but can also be done in government hospitals or other health facilities.

“Just like we are fighting terrorism, we need to look out for FGM acts in all corners. I am personally suspicious of health facilities in Nakawa Division,” Buwembo said.

UNFPA country representative, Dr Eric Akinyele Dairo whose organsiation financially supported Okurut’s works pledged to support Uganda Women’s Writers Association (FEMWRITE) to publish more books to change the mindset of communities against social immorality.

“The magnitude of FGM vice is worldwide. You can imagine more than 200m girls and women have gone through this pain in almost 30 countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia.

An estimated 86m young girls worldwide are likely to experience some form of the practice by 2030, if current trend continues,” Dr Akinyele said.

“Whereas Uganda national prevalence is at 1.4%, this prevalence is much higher in practicing communities in the districts of Kapchorwa, Kween, Bukwo, Nakapiririt, Moroto and Amudat, ranging between 50 and 95%.”

He revealed FGM is not only being done on grown-up women but also on newly born babies which exposes them to infections, over bleeding and eventually death.

“I want to change the switch from this book to the switch in my heart. We must switch from pain to joy, from hardship to liberty and from rejection to dignity,” he added.

In her speech, Speaker Kadaga heaped praises on Karooro for her efforts to fight FGM and other anti-social behaviours through publications.

“I can assure you that I personally and fellow MPs are more than willing to back you on this effort. I will buy 150 copies of this book and supply them to schools in Amudat and Kapchorwa so that men who are the pressure groups can reverse their opinion on FGM,” Kadaga said.

Kadaga further revealed the devastating effects of female genital mutilation, adding that some women are circumcised unknowingly while in hospital.

“It is not only babies that are circumcised, but even the mothers who have rejected the practice. I am told that during labour, these conservative midwives circumcise the mother without her notice during the time of birth. So a mother will think she is healing from labour pains when she has actually been mutilated,” Kadaga said.

She added, “I am also told that when a circumcised woman reaches the age of 40, sex becomes impossible because it is very painful.”

Karooro pledged to use the money from this publication to create awareness against FGM and also support mothers who have gone through this knife. She thanked her late husband Stanislaus Okurut for not ‘switching her off’ while she would wake up at 3am to write this book.

“I finished this book a little longer before my husband who supported me dearly died. Unlike other African men who would have scorned me for waking up at 3am saying I am now married to my books, SK (like I used to call him) did not switch me off,” Okurut said.

She cracked revelers when she revealed that her children recently gave her a birthday surprise when they told her to marry again.

“You see these stubborn girls of mine who also supported me were telling me to marry again and this spilled in the media, but I am not ready for that,” she added.

Karooro has written several other fascinating books among others include; The official Wife, The Curse of the Sacred Cow and The Man Who Ate His Eye.

Acholi Land Has Vast Untapped Opportunities

His Highness will woo investors in the region which is blessed with vast fertile land that can be used for commercial farming, agro-processing, and is rich in minerals and oil.

“This makes it a potential region for both local and international investors,” said Willy Mutenza, the chairman of Uganda Convention in UK.

“The region has also potential for tourism development resulting from its natural beauties such as the Kidepo Valley National Park, Alikoa pyramids and cultural tourism in traditional and cultural foods,” Mutenza noted.

A new day has come for the people of Northern Uganda. For over 20 years, Northern Uganda has been plagued with war and civil strife that led to hundreds of people being displaced, businesses collapsing, as well as untold poverty and misery.

Today, however, this region wakes up to renewed hope.

The war is over and life is slowly returning to normal as people try to rebuild their lives, re-establish small businesses and send their children to school.

Traditionally, the Northern region’s economy was dependent on agriculture, specifically livestock

rearing and food crops. With large-scale displacement spanning a decade, this is no longer the case and, until recently, production has been very low. Instead, a population that previously provided the rest of Uganda with basic foodstuffs became dependent on food aid.

However, since the end of the insurgency in 2006 it is regaining its former glory as the food basket of Uganda with major focus on cash crops like Maize, Sorghum, Soyabeans, Sunflower, Simsim, Groundnuts, Cotton, Coffee (Nebbi), fruits and vegetables, and tobacco.

Looking ahead to longer-term development, there are a number of sectors offering potential for

more significant levels of economic growth and prosperity. As well as opportunities, however, there

are also risks that the way in which different sectors are approached may aggravate long standing and

current conflict dynamics in the region.

Land acquisition for investment in this context is highly sensitive and runs the risk of quickly becoming politicised, as Northern leaders seek to articulate and protect the interests of their people, as well as their own interests

Sectors with potential for economic growth in Northern Uganda include; Commercial Agriculture, Dairy and beef production, Fruits and vegetables, Cross-border trade with Sudan (also DRC and wider region), Property market, Construction, Wholesale and retailing of general merchandise and consumer goods, Financial services, Health and education, Tourism, Minerals.

The most promising investment opportunities in the region are to be found in commercial agriculture – in part as a result of the effects of the conflict, which destroyed most other infrastructure in the region. More often than not, the communal owners of the majority of the land in Northern Uganda do not have the capacity at the moment to use the land optimally, and there is a dire need for a large input of capital in order to make it productive. Rudimentary and retrogressive methods of working the land are not sufficient to address the poor development indicators of the region. However, many forms of commercial agriculture require large tracts of land.

Investors need to be aware of the legal framework governing land in Uganda, and of the tenure systems that have hitherto been practiced by societies in the north.

About the Uganda Convention (UCUK).

Following the phenomenal success of the London Convention last September (which attracted over 1,500 delegates, the Convention is back again in September this year on the 10 September at Troxy Arena. Delegates will have access to up-to-date information on the vast potential for investment that Uganda offers to both the domestic and international community. They can acquire business tips, obtain relevant literature on priority sectors for investment, take part in an interactive Q & A session and hear about the realities of doing business in Uganda.

The keynote speaker is Rt. Hon. Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Prime Minister, Uganda Government with other speakers include Lord Popat, Trade Envoy to Uganda, King of Bunyoro, His Highness Solomon Iguru 1, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Kampala Capital City Authority, ministers and senior officials, chief executive officers and chairmen.

The theme of the Convention is “Why Invest in Uganda Now? Enhancing Investment for Job and Wealth Creation”. Uganda continues to record remarkable economic growth. According to the latest report by the Centre for International Development (CID) at Harvard University, Uganda’s economy is projected to grow at an average annual growth projection of 7% over the next decade. At this growth rate, Uganda is projected to be the fastest growing economy in the Africa Region, and among the top 4 fastest growing economies in the world behind India at 7.9%.

The Convention addresses the essential need-to-know topics most prevalent to Uganda, such as opportunities within the priority sectors;  infrastructure development, Power & Energy, Health-care, Agriculture & Agri-business, Real Estate, tourism, increasing intra-regional trade and developing risk mitigation strategies through collaborations and private equity, and VC finance access.

Rio nudists stage ‘naked Olympics’

On a stunning beach in Rio de Janeiro a group of brave souls have stripped the Olympic Games right back to basics as they pay tribute to the ancient Greeks by staging their own games – in the nude.

The dedicated naturists are competing every weekend in a series of high-spirited and energetic contests that toss all inhibitions out of the window.

medal1

The organisers of the Abrico Beach ‘Olympic Games’ say anyone can take part – as long as they are prepared to strip off.

They advise all competitors: ‘There is no point worrying about ‘what you look like when you bend over to pick up the ball, getting embarrassed when you fall over with your legs up in the air or bothering about your bits jiggling as you sprint for the finishing line.’

Naked Olympic ‘events’ include football, beach volleyball, swimming, sprinting and race walking. There are also a few non-Olympic sports such as the tug of war, surfing, which is due to debut at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo, and Peteca, a traditional game in Brazil which is played with a hand shuttlecock.

medal2

The stark-naked games on the dedicated naturist Abrico beach in Grumari, in the west zone of Rio, are a far cry from the rigorous and heavily contested competitions taking place just nine miles away in the Olympic city in Barra da Tijuca.

Naturist Elisangela Santiago, who runs Rio’s Abrico Beach Naturist Association, said: ‘We decided we wanted to enjoy the Olympics in a novel and liberating way that paid tribute to the origins of the sport.

‘We have lined up a few fun games for people to get involved in. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t got an athletic bone in your body, the whole idea is to push out the boundaries and have plenty of legitimate fun while you happen to be naked.

‘Our games are all about encouraging people to feel good about themselves and promote a healthy and positive way of living freely and be at one with nature,’ she added.

Elisangela said: ‘We are giving out medals for all those who are good sports and who participate. The only thing is that you will have to stand on a rock to receive your medal because we don’t have a podium. And we make do with deck chairs for goalposts when we play football.’

medal3

It’s winter in Brazil and temperatures have dropped from the summer highs of 45 degrees and hover around the 25 to 29-degree mark, and with a slight wind chill in the air, no one was brave enough to bear the cold South Atlantic waters without a stitch on. Even so the beach was packed with naked bodies.

‘That doesn’t mean you can’t compete and show off your skills in the sea. It’s just that many of us prefer to do it when it’s warm,’ explained Elisangela, a 35-year-old nurse.

Abrico beach is located in a remote area of Rio in a steep mountainous region with breathtaking scenic views. It is not easily reached without a car. The beach is sheltered by soaring mountains that line the sandy coast. This makes it an ideal location for practicing naturism.

And even though the area is right beside another beach where everyone wears bikinis or swimming trunks, the nudism section is partitioned off by huge towering boulders that block the entrance to the naturists stretch.

This means no one can gawp, ogle or take sneaky pictures at a distance.

Businessman, Luis Carlos, 37, is second in charge of running the naturist reserve.

He said: ‘We have over 1,000 members from all walks of life that include lawyers, teachers, police officers, scientists and so on, who regularly come here to relax and get a tan all over.’

Luis has been a naturist for the past six years and said he ‘absolutely adores’ the area.

He said: ‘This is a really different and beautiful beach which complements our love of being naked and in contact with nature.’

Elisangela adds that nudism on the beach does not mean that people ‘should expect to come looking for sex’.

She said: ‘This is a family beach and we pride ourselves in keeping it secure and free of robberies and violence. We have security patrolling the area all the time, so people feel safe and their possessions are kept safe.

medal4

‘There has never been any of the sort of problems that are associated with other beaches in Rio such as gangs of violent youths trawling and robbing sunbathers,’ she added.

The area has been used as a skinny-dipping and nude sun-worshippers spot for over 20 years. But it was through the efforts of die-hard members that Abrico beach was officially designated a clothes-free zone by the Rio government in 2014. The 250 square metre rustic stretch of shoreline is Rio’s first and only nudist beach.

‘Many people are surprised that Rio only has one naturist area,’ revealed Elisangela.

Riek Machar Should Stay Away From Politics

South Sudan’s prominent opposition leader Riek Machar shouldn’t practice politics when he returns to the country, a spokesman of the government allied to President Salva Kiir said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting in Juba, Michael Makuei Lueth, Information Minister, said his government doesn’t object to Machar’s return to South Sudan if he wants to stop inciting violence.

The government spokesman further said Riek Machar should stay away from practicing politics until time comes for elections, saying the opposition leader should come back as a normal citizen of South Sudan.

In April, President Kiir formed a new coalition government with Machar as his deputy as part of a peace deal signed in August 2015.

But fighting broke out in July between forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and those supporting Machar, his long-time rival, who had been serving as first vice president but who left Juba after the fighting. He has since been replaced as first vice president.

The United Nations said recently that it helped deposed South Sudanese opposition leader Riek Machar move safely within the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Usain Bolt’s Nude Pictures Leak

A twenty-year-old student from Rio has shared photos of what appear to be her with Usain Bolt after a wild night of partying on the final weekend of the Olympics.

Jady Duarte shared WhatsApp pictures that show her wearing a white top while embracing a bare-torsoed Bolt – who has a long-term girlfriend.

In one of the photos – which first appeared on several Brazilian websites including El Globo after Duarte shared them with friends – Bolt seems to give Duarte a kiss on the cheek while she looks into the camera.

The Jamaican sprinter, who turned 30 on Sunday, was also pictured partying until the early hours of the morning at All In, a club in the Barra de Tijuca suburb of Rio.

It was a wild end to the sprinter’s third and apparently final Olympics where he won another three gold medals, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest sprinters of all time.

usain2

In typical fashion, the flamboyant runner took to the stage at the De Bracos Albertas club – delighting revelers and fans in the process.

Bolt, who has a girlfriend of two years at home in Jamaica who he calls his ‘First Lady’, also attracted the attention of 20-year-old Duarte who shared photos of herself in bed with the superstar on WhatsApp early Sunday morning.

The intimate photos show the star curled up in bed with the student at 7am local time this morning.

Speaking to local newspaper Extra, Duarte said she hadn’t realized that she was with a famous athlete and described their nocturnal encounter as ‘normal’.

Duarte wasn’t the only woman to catch Bolt’s eye last night – a video posted to Twitter showed him twerking enthusiastically with another local girl during his evening out.

He sang and danced just hours after earning three Olympic gold medals. Bolt thus completed a triple triple, as he also won the 100 meters, the 200 meters and the 4×100-meter relay in 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London.

Meanwhile his sister had just revealed that Bolt had a long-term girlfriend – 26-year-old Kasi Bennett.

Bolt and Bennett have been dating for more than two years and were likely to get engaged soon, according to Christine Bolt-Hylton.

But Bennett shared a cryptic tweet on Sunday. Someone commented on the world ‘discovering’ Bolt’s girlfriend, saying Bennett was ‘hot’.

Bennett replied: ‘I wish there was no discovery, but thank you so much. That’s really sweet of you.’

Bolt made an early exit from Rio Sunday night – departing a day earlier than planned and missing the Closing Ceremony entirely.

The Jamaican sprinter was seen heading for the departure lounge at Rio’s Galeo International Airport an hour before the event got underway at 8pm local time.

His last tweet before departing Rio read in Portuguese: ‘We came, we saw, we conquered. Rio I have endless love for you.’

Bolt had also been expected to attend a party in his honor at the Jamaica hospitality house but the event was canceled due to bad weather, with an apologetic note left pinned to the railings outside.

The early departure of the 30-year-old means the Games concludes with almost no big name stars in attendance, with Michael Phelps and Sir Bradley Wiggins already back on home soil.

usain1

Bolt is flying home to a hero’s welcome in Kingston – and has had a reggae song called ‘Bolt the Champion’ composed in his honor.

The sprinter, who will now retire from Olympic competition following the Games, is expected to take on an ambassadorial role in athletics and has also signed a lifetime contract with Nike thought to be worth an estimated $30m a year.

However, the Jamaican champ has had no special treatment during the Rio Games, sharing a room in an Athlete’s Village with team mate Asafa Powell for most of the event.

Prior to the Opening Ceremony, he and his Jamaica team mates were put up in a low-cost hotel close to Galeo International airport, where rooms go for as little as $136 a night.

The only luxury at the Linx Hotel was the services of a Jamaican chef, flown in especially to provide the Olympic star and his team mates with food fit for champions.

Boko Haram militants kill 10, abduct 13 in Nigerian village

The Takfiri Boko Haram terrorist group has invaded a village in Nigeria, killing at least ten people and abducting 13 others before burning down the entire village.

The terrorists riding on motorcycles opened fire on residents in Kubrrivu village near the northeast town of Chibok at dawn on Saturday, locals said on Sunday.

Residents said the militants attacked the village as residents slept, adding they burnt down the whole village after looting food supplies and livestock and taking away women and children.

Boko Haram has been active in Nigeria since 2002, but its attacks had not been significant until 2010, when the gunmen managed to free 700 inmates from a prison in Bauchi and raid a mosque in Maiduguri.

Last year, Amnesty International said at least 2,000 women and girls had been kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria since the beginning of 2014, and many of them forced into sexual slavery or combat.

Naked statues Of Donald Trump Unveiled

The artist who created the naked statues of Donald Trump that popped up in major cities across the country said that when he started the project, he supported the Republican presidential candidate.

The statues, were the brainchild of anarchist collective INDECLINE, who brought on Joshua ‘Ginger’ Monroe to actually create them because of his expertise in the ‘horror’ genre.

tru1

‘The objective was to source an artist who could accurately and skillfully capture both realistic and grotesque human attributes,’ said INDECLINE, the self-described ‘anonymous activist collective’ that assigned Monroe his task in a statement Thursday, DNA Info reported.

‘Working exclusively in the ‘horror’ genre, ‘Ginger’ maintained a familiarity with creating monsters that translated perfectly when tasked with creating Donald Trump.’

INDECLINE, which was founded in 2001, commissioned Monroe back in April to create the five life-size, nude states of Trump for a project called ‘The Emperor Has No B***s’.

The completed works appeared in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Seattle on Thursday morning, before authoritative figures in each city called for them to be taken down.

Monroe told Newsweek that he only ever met two of the dozens of artists apart of INDECLINE.

When Monroe started working on the statues, he was a Trump supporter.

‘When I started this, I was going to vote for Trump,’ Monroe said.

But by the time he finished the statues, Monroe’s opinion of The Donald changed.

‘The different times he’s said just horrific things has made me raise an eyebrow,’ he said.

When Trump imitated a New York Times reporter with a congenital joint condition, Monroe stopped supporting him, though Trump denies doing such a thing.

tru3

‘I actually have family members who are disabled and when he did that, that just showed his true character, and I’ve never been so disgusted with a candidate in all my life,’ said Monroe.

The 36-year-old, who has worked previously for horror productions and movies, did this project pro-bono.

‘This has been an amazing opportunity for me as an artist to not only get my name out there, but to get millions of people to see my work,’ he said.

‘That’s something that an artist would have to pay to do, so I was very willing to invest my time.’

He invested roughly $6,000 in materials and hired a model with a similar build as Trumps.

In addition, he worked on the statues around his full-time job and estimates that he slept about three hours each night.

Monroe, who signed the statues as ‘Ginger’, didn’t expect the statutes to stand in the specific areas they were placed in for long. INDECLINE didn’t either.

The group said: ‘Each of the pieces would have a limited amount of time before the city or the police covered or removed them completely.’

The group felt as though when the statues would fall or be removed, they would leave behind, the ’embodiment of the ghastly soul of one of America’s most infamous and reviled politicians,’ and represent his ‘failed and delusional quest to obtain the presidency.’

Monroe, who is based out of Las Vegas, also said that he’s not nervous to be affiliated with INDECLINE for the project.

”No, that’s why we have first amendment rights,” he said.

“I have freedom of expression as an artist. Again, I’m just the artist who was commissioned to make the statues — I was not the one to install them.”

INDECLINE said the project was inspired by The Emperor’s New Clothes, a Hans Christian Andersen tale of a vain ruler who is tricked into wearing nothing at all.

tru4

The group also wanted to suggest Trump’s similarities to past dictators who would erect monuments of themselves in public squares for all to see.

‘Like it or not, Trump is a larger-than-life figure in world culture at the moment,’ an INDECLINE spokesman told The Washington Post.

‘Looking back in history, that’s how those figures were memorialized and idolized in their time – with statues.’

‘Trump is just yet another monster, so it was absolutely in my wheelhouse to be able to create these monstrosities.’

Monroe used 300 pounds of clay and silicone to mold and shape his version of Trump, complete with a pot belly and hair down there that is just as golden as the locks on his head.

The hands are clasped together and a Masonic ring is on Trump’s hand, meant to symbolize his privilege and wealth, according to Monroe.

But it was Trump’s derriere that gave Monroe the most trouble.

‘If somebody were to look at my browser history, it would be a little disturbing,’ he said.

‘Turns out there’s not too many Google results for ‘saggy old man butt”.

And Monroe paid special attention to the Donald’s mouth, wanting to give him a ‘constipated look’.

‘He has a very distinct little mouth,’ Monroe said. ‘The way his chin meets the jowl, it had to look right.’
