Rich Gang Crew Choke on Water and Soda

The rich gang crew headed by Ivan Semwanga tries so hard to be noticed by throwing money all over in clubs, holding themed parties, posting several photos on Facebook and Instagram posing on flashy cars as well as holding money bags.

But surprisingly, they were spotted at Cricket Oval, Lugogo during the Blankets and Wine event on Sunday choking on sodas and water as totally opposed to their previous spending lifestyle.

Ssemwanga and Ed Cheune were sharing a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi and 500ml of water yet these guys used to sip on spirits, Champagne and all those expensive drinks.

Most partiers started getting worried when the Rich Gang crew failed to throw even a coin on them.

All the babes came ready to chop the money with the Sangomas but they were totally disappointed. Dressed in skimpy revealing outfits, they kept parading their goodies but the rich gang crew kept in their corner.

Apparently, from the day they jetted into the country, they’ve not disturbed any hangout like they used to do in the past.

Kenyan Singer Accuses Bebe Cool Of Plagiarism

Over the years we’ve seen works of plagiarism in Bobi Wine’s abalungi balumya, Goodlyfe’s bread and butter, Ray’s Kasenyaku and Ragga Dee’s Swititi among others.

Latest information indicates that the Gagamel boss Bebe Cool has also been accused by fast-rising Kenyan female artiste, Gin Ideal for ‘stealing’ her song.

She rose to fame with her ‘Rede’ song and after the original song made a piercing impression to her fans, Ideal wanted to make a remix of the song.

The Rede hit maker did a remix of the original with Kenya’s dance hall artiste Wyre and before it was released, Gin Ideal had first settled for Uganda’s Bebe Cool.

The female star explained that she sent the original to Bebe Cool and instead of putting his words to add to the remix, Bebe Cool went on to copy and paste her song and came out with another song called Dede, with the same melody.

“In the beginning we had settled on Bebe Cool and then he went ahead and took my chorus and did a song called Dede,” she said.

Zari Parades Gorgeous Looks In ‘Borrowed’ Dress

Tanzanian babes have failed to get to terms that singer Diamond Platinumz chose Uganda socialite, Hassan Zari over them. They attack her at any chance they get.

The latest is that Zari is being roasted and witch hunted by Tanzanian babes that she borrowed a dress that she wore for dinner last week.

They claim that she was slaying in a dress that belongs to a friend.

This didn’t go well with her fans who rallied behind her on social media and assured her haters that they are just local.

One Kayongo Isma said “It’s the same fashion or design but not the same dress! They have different measurements of body. It actually seems the fatso is the one who borrowed if it’s the real case.”

Zari’s pal (R) wearing a similar dress with that she wore during a dinner last week

A one Wild Rose said “Zari is smaller than her, she can’t fit her dress, besides Zari has enough money to buy 10 of those dresses, why could she borrow from her?”

Mariam Senkubuge, “Any fool can see those are different dresses… Tanzanian bitches need to take a chill pill and let our gal be eeeish.”

Many claim that the dress is the same but different sizes. They also argue that being friends, they could be using the same designers/ stylists.

All in all, borrowed or not, Zari did justice to the dress and looked extremely gorgeous.

Kwese TV Fishes DsTV’s Kabuura, Chico

It looks like that South Africa Dstv’s Super sport channel has lost interest in the East African sports events that it has closed its bureau in Kenya.

We have learnt that two of its finest celebrated field sports commentator Andrew Kabuura and Chico Lawi have moved to Kwese TV formerly WBS based in Naguru.

A source at Dstv intimated to us that the continental digital sports channel was not making money in the East African region and it was forced to minimize coverage in the region by closing its bureau which was dedicated at covering Kenya premier League (KPL) and CECAFA.

Basically it was spending a lot of money which it was not making.

Sources reveal that Kabuura is going around claiming that he was offered a juicy deal with Kwese TV and will be flying to Kwese TV headquarters in South Africa where he is set to be based, not at its Naguru branch.

Currently Kabuura works at Bugolobi based Radio City FM as sports presenter. It remains unclear whether he will quit Radio City and NTV where he has shows respectively if the talk of relocating to South Africa is real.

Kwese is owned by a Zimbabwean tycoon Strive Masiwa. Last year he acquired WBS TV from Godfrey Wavamuno and also leased the premises for 50 years.

Musisi Declines to Commission ‘Shoddy Work’

The Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi has declined to commission shoddy work done by Timtek Construction Company at Kisaasi Primary school.

KCCA contracted the company to do renovations at the school at a pay of 672 million shillings, but after several months of restless work, the no nonsense Musisi wasn’t convinced.

She said she couldn’t receive substandard work that wasted taxpayers’ money.

Musisi said KCCA would not pay the balance until the school is put at the agreed standards as per contract terms.

The companies managing director, George Otim reacted to the development saying; “The bad luck for this project does not justify the allegations that we do shoddy work, because we have in the past worked on many government projects for which we were even awarded certificates.”

He promised to redo the work to Musisi’s satisfaction.

It should be noted that Musisi’s contract has been recently renewed for the next three years, and she promised to put much emphasis on improving service delivery in the education, health and transport sectors in the city.

Nigeria’s Buhari to go to London for more medical tests – Spokesman

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to London on Sunday night for follow-up medical tests, handing over power to his deputy Yemi Osibanjo, his office said.

Buhari, 74, returned to Nigeria two months ago after receiving medical treatment in Britain. Officials have refused to disclose details of his medical condition.

The president met on Sunday a group of 82 girls who had been released after being held captive for three years by Islamist militants, but he did not attend a cabinet meeting last Wednesday. That was his third consecutive absence from the weekly meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

“The length of the President’s stay in London will be determined by the doctors,” the president’s office said in a statement.

“Government will continue to function normally under the able leadership of the vice president,” it said, adding that there was no cause for worry.

Buhari, a former military ruler, returned home in March after nearly two months’ medical leave in Britain and said he would need more rest and then go back to Britain for follow-up tests.

The president’s office said Buhari had notified both chambers of parliament of his trip, which will put Osinbajo formally in charge.

Osinbajo, a lawyer who is seen as more business-friendly than Buhari, has played an active role in driving policy changes, chairing cabinet meetings during the president’s medical leave.

Officials have sought to avoid a scenario seen in 2010 when political infighting broke out when then-President Umaru Yar’Adua was sick for months.

Osinbajo was already given full powers to act during Buhari’s previous absence, in contrast to his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan who only took over after Yar’Adua’s death in 2010 ended a power vacuum.

War forces 2 million South Sudanese children to flee homes

War and famine have forced more than 2 million children in South Sudan to flee their homes, the United Nations said on Monday, as 21 people died in the latest attack on civilians by unknown gunmen.

The civil war in the oil-producing country began when President Salva Kiir fired his deputy in 2013, two years after the country won independence from neighbouring Sudan.

The fighting that followed split the country along ethnic lines, spurred hyperinflation and plunged parts of the nation into famine, creating Africa’s biggest refugee crisis since the Rwandan genocide in 1994.

“No refugee crisis today worries me more than South Sudan,” Valentin Tapsoba, the Africa chief for the U.N. refugee agency UNHCR, said in a statement.

In a country of 12 million people, nearly three in every four children do not go to school, UNHCR and the U.N. children’s agency UNICEF said. More than 1 million children have fled outside South Sudan while another 1 million are internally displaced.

The agencies said more than a thousand children have been killed in the fighting. The true figure may be much higher since there are no accurate death tolls available for South Sudan, one of the world’s least developed nations.

Separately, an official told Reuters that two commercial vehicles carrying passengers were attacked at two checkpoints along the Juba-Bor road on Friday.

“One commercial vehicle coming from Juba was attacked at a checkpoint in Jamaza and the other at Sudan Safari,” said Jacob Akech Deng, the Jonglei province’s state minister of information.

“We have received, and saw 21 people killed and 25 injured at Bor Hospital,” he told Reuters, referring to areas along the highway.

Reports in South Sudan said the death toll could reach to 51. Deng said authorities were still collecting evidence.

Many South Sudanese refugees have fled into neighbouring Uganda, Kenya, Sudan or Ethiopia, nations which are already struggling to provide enough food and resources for their own populations.

Worsening hunger crises stoke global migration – U.N study

The more people go hungry at home the more likely they are to migrate, according to a United Nations study released on Friday as the world grapples with four potential famines simultaneously for the first time in recent history.

The number of people fleeing a country increases by 1.9 percent for each percentage increase of food insecurity, the U.N. World Food Programme (WFP) said in the first report to comprehensively analyse the link between hunger and migration.

Prolonged conflict also pushes more people to abandon their homes, with refugee outflows increasing 0.4 percent for each additional year of war, the analysis said.

“By understanding the dynamics that compel people to move, we can better address what lies at the heart of forced migration and what must be done to end their suffering,” said WFP Executive Director David Beasley.

More than 20 million people risk dying from starvation because of drought and conflict in Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan and northeast Nigeria, while more than 100 million face acute malnutrition worldwide, according to the United Nations.

Famine was declared in some areas of South Sudan in February – the first official famine in six years.

The WFP study, which included interviews with migrants from 10 countries, also found that hunger fuelled conflicts with reports of people joining armed groups to feed their families.

In turn, war makes food more scarce.

“We had to eat grass to survive. My kids stayed up all night crying because they were hungry,” a woman who fled Syria to Jordan with her family was quoted as saying.

A record 65.3 million people were uprooted worldwide in 2015, according to U.N. data.

Some 1.6 million refugees and migrants reached the European Union in 2014-2016 leading to disputes on how to share the burden among member states.
