The Chief of Defence Forces Gen. David Muhoozi on Monday held a secret meeting with his Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Army (SPLA) led by General James Agongo Mawut at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MoDVA) headquarters Mbuya hill.
Before the meeting started, Gen. Agongo inspected a guard of honor mounted by Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) in accompaniment of his Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Operations, training and Intelligence- Lt. Gen Malual Ayom Dov, Maj. Gen Koul Deng Abot-the Director General International and Public Relations, Maj. Gen Akol Majok Nyigan from SPLA Headquarters among others.

In the course of the discussions, the two military leaders exchanged views on the current situation in South Sudan and further discussed strengthening working relations between the two countries.
The senior men in uniform also applauded the current dialogue between the various political actors in South Sudan aimed at building lasting peace and stability.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (DCDF) Lt. Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, the Commander Land Forces Maj. Gen Peter Elwelu and the Joint Chief of Staff Maj. Gen Joseph Musanyufu among other senior UPDF officers.
