The two Giant Netball Clubs in Uganda registered their first wins in the national netball league played at Namboole.
Defending Champions Prisons netball club started on a good note fighting teeth and nail to win their first league match against KCCA by 51-38 goals with Stella Ayella, Hadijja Nakabuye and Dorothy Tabia doing the damage to help Prisons register a win. While last season’s runners up NIC Netball club registered two wins in their opening league games against UCU by 42-34, and Police Younger 51-41 goals.
NIC Captain Racheal Nanyoga who was in her own class scored a total of 60 goals to guide her club top the netball log with two wins and 4 points over the weekend.
Meanwhile Gen Kale girls, Police netball club walloped Blue Star 63-30 goals as Christine Lamunu a teacher by professional scoring 43 goals in a single match.
In men’s game, defending champions WOB with all its skilled, talented players beat Kampala University (KU) 42-34 goals with other two games KU against MUK in men category and KCCA up against Police Young were postponed.
The league will resume on Saturday 30th Sept 2017 with five games on Card
