UNTOLD STORY: Why Rugasira’s Good Coffee Cafes Closed
A few days ago we revealed how city businessman Andrew Rugasira’s strings of Good African Coffee were in financial troubles that forced them to close down.
Rugasira has been running the coffee businesses at Game store Lugogo, Quality shopping village Lubowa and another in Entebbe housed by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) which are all closed due financial related issues.
Info reaching us from the Entebbe Airport has it that Rugasira’s good Africa coffee branch was closed down for majorly two reasons. Sources reveal that a team of joint inspection headed by senior doctors and CAA top managers including general manager carried out an inspection at all restaurants operating at the airport and found Good African Coffee very unhygienic. Based on that, recommendations were made to close it down until hygiene is rectified.
We have learnt that Good African Coffee scored only 10% remarks which was far below standards and declared health hazard for customers by DR. David Mpago Kakuba.
During the process, it was discovered that it was in rent arrears of shs 186m which should be paid before reopened. We have learnt that Ayub Soma, the general Manager wrote to all stakeholders to stop staff from accessing the restaurant.
