It’s Museveni to set up Committee to Investigate MUK Problems — Ddumba
Eight days after the closure of Makerere University, the vice chancellor Professor John Ddumba Sentamu is still unsure when a committee that will investigate the problems at the institution will be set up.
“We are not playing any part in the composition of the committee because this is a directive from the president. So it is him to come up with the terms of reference, it is him to come up with the committee members,”
This website understands that last week, President Yoweri Museveni ordered the closure of Makerere University following a long running stand-off between management and lecturers over payment of $13.5million allowance arrears.
The lecturers have been on strike for a fortnight and were later joined by students prompting the President’s action.
